Workshop
The workshop is situated in the centre of Vänersborg, Sweden, in an old building that had at one time housed a newspaper printing establishment, amongst other things. In 1996, before moving in, the premises were renovated to include the installation of an effective ventilation system.
In the beginning, the workshop consisted of just the original press room as well as a small etching room but in 2007 we had the opportunity to expand into the neighbouring premises as well. This resulted in a doubling of the floor space and so the workshop presently consists of a further two large workrooms, a meeting room and a small kitchen.
In the larger studio, with its tall windows and high ceiling, there are three etching presses plus a relief press. In addition there is equipment for viscosity printing as well as a UV vacuum exposure unit for light sensitive plates and films.
We are also fortunate enough to have a separate specific studio for lithography. In 2012, a stone litho press was installed followed by the fitting of a special workspace for stone preparation and associated equipment. The first litho print was finally made in 2013.
The premises also have a silkscreen printing area and a small darkroom. There are numerous general worktops for individual or group printmaking activities while the many windows provide natural light. The walls in several of the rooms are also used as exhibition space for finished works.
We also strive to work in a workshop environment that is as safe and healthy as possible.
